Fishin Under A Blood Moon

So...sometimes everything just comes together in an unexpected way...I've written about this before, and even named a recent painting "Serendipity".

Today's painting was actually "started" about a month ago. By started, I mean I had put down some color left over on my palette from another painting. The idea of fishing was still in my head, so as I painted, an image of a person ice fishing showed up. But there was this red circle that seemed incongruous. I contemplated changing its color...but it seemed to want to stay...and so I decided it must be a "blood Moon", a total lunar eclipse. Imagine my surprise to learn that early this morning, there WAS a total lunar eclipse. 

I looked up fishing under a blood moon, and read some accounts that fish bite more under a blood moon,  so maybe this painting will be a lucky omen for someone!
