The paint wasn't even dry on this one before it was snatched up by a lovely lady from Florida saw it on Facebook and had to have it! Even though purchasing art wasn't on her radar, this piece spoke to her in such a way that she had to have it. When my heart connects so strongly with another heart, it makes me dance with joy. Thank you J.M.!!!
Years of painting, struggling to find my voice, being frustrated with results, looking back at images of paintings in process and suddenly... I see the light. My "voice" was not lost, or even hidden. I just needed to be confident enough to stop when the painting worked for me and not worry what anyone else would think. I owe a great deal of this growth in confidence to my friend and gallery owner, Juliet Harrison of Equis Art Gallery. She has been my champion for years.
With all the debate I read about whether the need for gallery representation is dead, I can only say that for me, being represented by a gallery that takes a real interest in me and my art, someone who is enthusiastic about my work and shares that enthusiasm with collectors, someone who validates my voice...this is priceless.
