Well I thought I'd be finished with this painting by now. I am struggling a little with the Russian Olive berries - making them beleivable without going crazy with tight detail. I am very happy with the little bird, though - and the overall design.

I started this painting last night - it is a 20x40 canvas, and I am experimenting with laying down transparent washes of color, somewhat like a watercolor technique. The fun thing is the ability to wipe out areas to create white and lighter areas.
